Be generous...

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In the Gospel of Mark 12:38-44, Jesus praises a poor widow who, despite having little, gives all she owns at the temple, contrasting her sincere sacrifice with the wealthy who give only from their abundance, showing her deep faith and trust in God.

The story teaches that God values sincere, intentional giving over the amount given. True devotion involves a sacrificial commitment to God, as shown by the widow. Reflecting on her example encourages us to give with genuine faith, knowing that God honours honest sacrifices.

May God bless us with a spirit of generosity and strengthen our faith as we follow this path of wholehearted giving.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In today’s Gospel from Mark 10:46-52, Bartimaeus, a blind man, calls out to Jesus for mercy as He passes by. Despite others’ attempts to silence him, Bartimaeus persists, showing deep faith in Jesus’ compassion and healing power. Jesus hears him, and because of his faith, restores his sight.

Bartimaeus teaches us that true faith is persistent, even when others discourage us. We are called to trust in God's mercy and timing, bringing our needs to Him with humility, as Bartimaeus did. This reminds us that God cares deeply for each of us and is ready to respond to our faith.

As we go forth this week, may we, like Bartimaeus, have the courage to call out to God, confident in His love and power. May we also be vessels of encouragement, guiding others toward the light and hope that only Christ provides.

God bless you all.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today’s Gospel from Mark 10:17-30 speaks about the cost of following Christ. A wealthy man approached Jesus, asking how to inherit eternal life. Though he had kept the commandments, Jesus challenged him to give up his wealth and follow Him, highlighting the deeper sacrifice necessary for true discipleship.

This passage calls us to fully surrender to Christ, letting go of anything that holds us back and placing our complete trust in God.
True discipleship requires sacrifice, humility, and dedication. What we give up for Christ will be repaid in spiritual richness and eternal life. As we reflect on our values, may we strengthen our commitment to Christ, finding true fulfillment in following Him.
May God guide us always on this journey of faith and service.

In Christ’s love,

Marriage...

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In today's Gospel from Mark 10:2-16, Jesus teaches that marriage is a sacred and lasting covenant established by God, not just a human arrangement. He points to creation, highlighting the union of man and woman, and calls for a love that is committed, selfless, and enduring.

Christian marriage emphasizes that true love is based on sacrifice and faithfulness. The two essential properties of this union are unity and indisolubility.

Jesus also emphasizes the importance of children, urging us to embrace their innocence and humility. He reminds us to trust in God rather than seeking power and success.

Let us reflect on these teachings and build relationships grounded in love, respect, and trust, welcoming one another as Christ welcomes us.

May God bless you all.
