PROF. SUNDAY PAUL BAKO LEADS TSU TO NATIONAL ADMISSION POLICY MEETING IN ABUJA TODAY……..

The Vice Chancellor of Taraba State University, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, alongside the Registrar, Dr. Joseph U. Bibinu, and the Admission Desk Officer, Mr. Babayero Idris Mafindi, today participated in the 2026 Admission Policy Meeting held at the Body of Benchers Auditorium.
The meeting brought together heads of tertiary institutions, registrars, admission officers, and other stakeholders in the education sector from across Nigeria to deliberate on policies and strategies aimed at strengthening the nation’s admission process and improving access to quality higher education.

The event also featured the 6th Edition of the National Tertiary Admission Performance Merit Award (NAPTAP-M), which recognizes institutions for outstanding performance, transparency, and excellence in admission administration. Speaking at the gathering, stakeholders emphasized the importance of maintaining merit, fairness, and integrity in the admission process while encouraging institutions to align with national educational standards and best practices.

The participation of Taraba State University management at the national event reflects the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence, effective administration, and quality service delivery in higher education.

PROGRESS CONTINUES AS 150 STUDENTS SIT FOR FIRST PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION MLSCN……………

Taraba State University has successfully conducted the First Professional Examination for a total of 150 students in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, under the supervision of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

This milestone marks another significant stride in the academic advancement of the Faculty of Health Sciences, as the department continues to record remarkable success in its professional examinations. The achievements are attributed to the purposeful leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Sunday Paul Bako.

The Vice-Chancellor, who was ably represented by the DVC (Administration) Prof. Reuben Jonathan, formally received the MLSCN representatives at the Senate Building.

The MLSCN delegation included the Chief Examiner, Bukar Alhaji of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of Maiduguri Dr. Patrick Okafor from the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University; and the HoD Dr. Emmanuel Kashibu.

In his remarks, Prof. Reuben Jonathan expressed appreciation to the representatives for their commitment and professionalism in overseeing the examination process. He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to complying with the Council’s policies, maintaining high examination standards, and ensuring quality assurance in all academic programs.

He further commended the MLSCN team for their visit to Taraba State University, describing the institution as a centre of excellence and innovation.

The examination comprised both practical laboratory assessments and Computer-Based Tests (CBT), reflecting the institution’s commitment to modern and comprehensive evaluation standards.
