Why do we pay for land when it already exists on the planet for free? When I buy an iPhone, I pay Apple because they built that iPhone. But when I buy land, I am paying the landlord who didn't make that land.

It turns out thousands of years ago, that's how it was. Humans lived on Earth for free. Nobody really owned land until a group of strong people came together and decided to put an imaginary fence.

Around chunks of land they eventually got the kings at the time to agree with them this imaginary fence never came down every piece of land is now owned by someone on earth so you can't just live on earth for free anymore the land itself is free it's the permission that you're paying for to use that land and if you were to trace this ownership all the way back to the first person it's usually someone who took it by force and not by paying for it because the first person to own
that piece of land didn't pay someone to buy it, they just took it.
Isn't that concerning?
