Today, April 21, we celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day ( ) — a global moment to recognize the power of creativity and innovation in solving problems, shaping communities, and reimagining the future.
At the Read-A-Create Children’s Creativity Festival, this is exactly what we stand for.
Creativity is not just about art — it’s how children think, express, and make sense of the world. That’s why our festival explores creativity in its many forms:
Storytelling & Literacy – Helping children find their voice, tell their own stories, and build confidence through reading and writing.
Art & Expression – From drawing to crafts, children explore imagination, identity, and emotion through visual creativity.
Performance & Play – Drama, role-play, and puppet-making that build confidence, empathy, and communication skills.
Music & Rhythm – Engaging with sound, culture, and movement to spark joy and cultural connection.
Creative Thinking & Problem-Solving – Encouraging curiosity, questioning, and innovative thinking from an early age.
Culture & Identity – Centering African stories, patterns, and perspectives so children see themselves in what they create.
In a world facing complex challenges, nurturing creativity in children is not optional — it’s essential.
Let’s raise a generation of thinkers, makers, storytellers, and innovators.

Glad to announce we have received funding from Open Arts for our children's creativity festival holding on July 4th in Kaduna.
This is massive support for a first time children's festival struggling with finances. It will go a long way to support our plans for the various workshops and prize money for the winners.
Keep supporting our efforts to support creativity from the right point, childhood!
I got over 10 reactions on one of my posts last week! Thanks everyone for your support! 🎉

The Read-A-Create Children's Creativity Festival is on a mission to ignite imaginations and empower the next generation of storytellers and creators.
But we can't do it alone! We are looking to partner with local voices who are passionate about education, creativity, and the youth of Kaduna.
Help us find our ambassadors!
👇 TAG a Kaduna Influencer in the comments who needs to see this! Whether they are into lifestyle, education, arts, or community building—we want to connect!
