Diclofenac is not a sweet 🍭

Normal kidneys produce a hormone called prostaglandins that are used to protect the kidney from stress.

Diclofenac and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) like Ibrupofen, aspirin, ketoprofen, naproxen, mefenamic acid etc cause the kidney to lose the capacity to make these protective hormones and over time, can result in progressive kidney damage.

This damage may take years in some people but in others can occur after a single dose. NSAIDs are very unpredictable drugs in the kidney.

Even though you can buy Diclofenac and some other NSAIDs over the counter, please understand that they are not meant to be abused!
