The aim of this survey is to examine the role of emerging technologies such as AI, cryptocurrencies, and mobile applications such as WhatsApp business, in enhancing Nigerian entrepreneurship, particularly in Kano State.
The objectives are:
1) To identify and analyze the patterns of usage of AI, cryptocurrencies and mobile apps among youth led-startups in Kano State.
2) To evaluate the effects of these emerging technologies on key entrepreneurial outcomes, including efficiency, funding access, and scalability.
To propose targeted policy and skills development strategies that leverage emerging technologies for sustainable entrepreneurship and economic renaissance especially in Kano State.

Representing SparkLab Creativity & Innovation Hub at the FutureMap Roundtable, Umar Mohammed joined key stakeholders from government, innovation ecosystems, private sector, and development partners to engage in important conversations on the future of Nigeria’s digital innovation ecosystem, with a strong focus on Northern Nigeria.

The roundtable created a valuable space for dialogue, alignment, and shared reflection on human capital, ecosystem development, policy, and market creation. Conversations like these are critical for building systems that are inclusive, sustainable, and responsive to real needs on the ground.
