Congratulations Message

We, the Senior Special Reporters and Special Reporters (SSR/SR) Forum, under the leadership of Amir Abdullahi Kima, heartily congratulate the good people of Kano State and, in particular, our dear students for emerging as the best-performing state in the 2025 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

This historic feat is a reflection of the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba K Yusuf, the People’s Governor of Kano State, whose unwavering commitment to reviving the education sector has begun to yield outstanding results.

The renovation and construction of schools, provision of books and learning materials, prompt payment of teachers’ and civil servants’ salaries on the 25th of every month, and the declaration of a state of emergency on education have all contributed significantly to this remarkable achievement.

On this joyous occasion, we salute the dedication of our teachers, principals, school administrators, parents, and every stakeholder who contributed to this success. Most importantly, we commend our students, who have made Kano State proud through their outstanding performance.

We call on all stakeholders to continue supporting this noble cause so that Kano will not only retain this position but also set even greater records in the future.

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the immediate recruitment of 2,616 qualified teachers to address the wide teacher-to-pupil ratio in public primary schools.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Honored with 10 Awards of Excellence

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has been recognised with 10 prestigious awards of excellence for his exceptional leadership and significant achievements in education, healthcare, and tourism.

The awards were presented to the governor during the 31st Executive Council Meeting, which was held at Government House, Annex Kwankwasiyya City, on Wednesday.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor's spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Thursday.

Presenting the award from the Women Politicians Appointees by present administration, Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo said they honoured the governor for appointing over 100 women to key positions, including special advisers, special assistants, and special reporters.

The deputy governor also presented two separate awards: one from the Conference of Provosts for Colleges of Islamic Studies of Nigeria and another from the Management of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies.

These awards recognised the governor's commitment to education, particularly his substantial support for the college and his declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector.

The Chief of Staff, Dr. Sulaiman Wali Sani also presented the Forum of Special Advisers award to Governor Yusuf for his "inspiring and result-oriented leadership," which has had a lasting impact on the lives of Kano residents.

On her part, the state Commissioner of Culture And Tourism, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano presented some souvenirs from a traditional organization in honor of the governor for his efforts in reviving traditional institutions and supporting traditional craft professionals with startup capital.

Also, the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Health, presented two awards: one from the West African College of Physicians and another from the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria.

These awards were given in recognition of Governor Yusuf's visionary leadership in the state's healthcare sector.

Responding, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the recognition and reiterated his commitment to delivering on his administration's promises to the people of the state.
