YOUNG MINISTER

If you want to go far in ministry run away from these five (5) things. They all start with the letter 'F'.

1. Fornication:

1 Cor:10:8- NIV
'We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died'

Any time you fornicate, something dies in you. The potency of your call declines. Doubt this to your own detriment. 🥺

2. Fame:

Isaiah 14:12-14
'For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the North'
*Note: you could never have (it) except it's given.- Allow God to exalt you at the set time.

3. Financial Obsession:

2 Tim 4:10
'Demas has left me. He loved the good things of this life and went to Thessalonica'.

*Demas was actually more connected to Paul than Timothy, he made a shipwreck of his ministry because of materialism. He was to be Paul's direct assistant: but he lost it to the love of money.

4 Fraternity With Fools:

Proverbs 13:20
'He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Many young ministers ended up in occultism and mysticism.
REMEMBER, blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in seat of the scornful... Flee 🏃

5. Familiarity With Disregard:

Heb:12:28 - Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with Reverence and godly Fear:

There are people who have lost Reverence for God because they feel He is too merciful. Our Reverence and godly Fear doesn't mean legalism. In as much as He is our father, we shouldn't be too Familiar to a point that we lose this godly Fear and Reverence.

* Also, respect and honor your pastor and spiritual leader. Don't allow over familiarity make you despise your spiritual leader.

🚩 Never abuse access! 🚩

There are certain things you get which are actually categorised as privileges. Wisdom demands that you think of the future and upgrade your code of conduct in life.

Our Pidgin friends would say "If dem give you allow, no go collect allowance."

Meaning that when you get certain kinds of access, do not exceed your boundaries.

Take a moment to reflect on how you have been living your life and adjust where necessary.

For example, the fact that you are privileged to have your mentor's personal phone number (which they haven't made public to everyone) doesn't mean you are authorised to share it with others without their permission. It's different if it's a business line which they've made open to the public.

The fact that you are privileged to know your mentor's house address doesn't mean you should start telling everyone about it and sharing their address with others without their permission.

The fact that you are privileged to have some backend information about your mentor's private life doesn't mean you should start sharing their life stories with your friends.

The list is endless!

Some things are not taught in schools, and this is one of those things.

Some people once gained access to the palace but their bad behaviours got them kicked out.

Go and learn the culture of the palace. When you build a palace, you'd definitely understand the language of other palaces.

Respect access!

Access is definitely not licence to misbehave.
