STOP CALLING NEGLIGENCE “GOD’S WILL.”

God did not ask anyone to stand under a burning time bomb.

God did not send people to inhale fuel vapour.

God did not promise survival in an explosion.

When tragedy happens, we say:
“God has given, God has taken.”
But let’s be honest:
God did not take them. Unsafe actions did.

Fuel tankers can explode at any second.
One spark.
One phone.
One engine start.
One careless move.
And dozens of lives can be wiped out.
⚠️ NO fuel is worth your life.
⚠️ NO poverty justifies suicide-by-ignorance.
⚠️ NO belief cancels safety rules.

Let us be guided.
Let us be wise.
Let us stop turning preventable deaths into spiritual slogans.

Safety is not lack of faith.
Safety is responsibility.

Happening now at Tincan Liverpool Bridge, Apapa: A tanker overturned, with people scooping its contents from underneath the bridge.

January is not just about new goals, it’s about going home safe every day.

Working on site opened my eyes to a serious problem. Even after toolbox talks, even with rules clearly explained, I still watched grown men struggle to keep safety in mind.

And it hit me:
You don’t start teaching a left-handed man to use his right hand when he’s fully grown. You start early. You start from childhood.

That’s when I began asking myself hard questions.Yes, our children are taught Mathematics. English is solid.Sciences and Social Studies are impressive.

But let me ask you, how confident are you that your child is truly equipped to stay safe?
To recognize danger?
To speak up?
To act wisely when no adult is around?

I already know what some parents are thinking:
“Abeg, na God dey protect our children.”
And you’re absolutely right.

But here’s the difference between your child and another person’s child👇
Awareness. Exposure. Confidence.

So many things happen around our children that we don’t notice.

Sometimes they even try to tell us, but we’re too busy.

And when we finally listen, we dismiss it as “children’s talk.”That’s where the problem starts.
