Any Leader I Supported In 2023 Who Cannot Fulfill Campaign Promises Before 2027 Will Not Get My Support Again - Peter Martins Amodu
Award winning Singer of viral Tinubu campaign song "Non Negotiable" Peter Martins Amodu popularly known as De Bayons has sent a strong message to Nigerians and political leaders concerning 2027 elections.
According to him, he will not be supporting any political leader who doesn't fulfill campaign promises before 2027.
"I came to realize that due to my involvement in the recent elections in Nigeria and Kogi State, because i became more popular and vocal in support of the APC, many people began to see me as part of the problem. There are people who now dislike me more than the sitting President of Nigeria and Governor of Kogi State as if I'm the one who conducted the elections and announced them winners.
But that's unfair and people tend to forget so easily. Have you forgotten that we all brought the APC into power in this country?
Have you forgotten how we all clamored for the removal of Goodluck Jonathan?
We all thought that Buhari was the Messiah that would save Nigeria. There were celebrations across the country when Buhari was announced winner of 2015 presidential election.
Barely two years later when we began to fill the heat of hardship and deteriorating human conditions as never seen before, i was one of those few who cried out against that government even though my voice couldn't be heard but i made an effort in my little capacity with the song (Your Excellency Mr President) in 2017.
In 2020, i joined the Endsars Protests and even wished that it turned into a revolution and this was despite my support for the emergence of APC and Buhari's presidency in 2015.
I was at the forefront of youth mobilization for APC in Kogi State in 2015, i went to almost all the local governments with late Prince Abubakar Audu campaigning for APC to take power from PDP both at the State and National levels.
I was also in support of the protests against fuel subsidy removal by the then President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012.
I have always been against bad leadership irrespective of my support for anyone. This is still that same APC we brought upon ourselves years ago.
It may shock you to know that i have no membership card of any political party in Nigeria, i never had.
The reason for my movements around the political environment is for nothing else but to seek a platform to influence good and exemplary leadership in the society.
I'm an advocate of truth, justice, fairness morality and development. I will never in my lifetime sit and watch things go wrong and not support efforts to right societal wrongs.
I hãtê bad leadership, i hãtê bad leaders and i hãtê bad government administrations. I will condemn whatever and whoever is wrong and commend whatever and whoever is right.
If i feel someone has good intentions and i support them into power but they turn out to be the opposite of our expectations i shouldn't take the blames if i don't take the decisions for them.
I'm no special adviser to any leader.
Most of the people we support to get into governments are converted into their opposite selves before they're allowed to enter power.
It means that the person you knew before election is a complete opposite of himself when he gets into power, this is why things don't work in Nigeria. There's more to politics in Nigeria than meets the ordinary eye.
On this note i want to call on everyone who's nurturing hãtred for me because of certain political sentiments to rethink deeply and understand that I'm only a young man trying to find a platform of change. I'm no enemy of the people but a deep lover of the people who wishes to see things work.
I also apologize to those i must have directly or indirectly hürt with my words or actions knowingly or unknowingly.
As we prepare for 2027 elections, i will be using every means available to me to campaign against bad leaders and campaign for good leaders.
Any leader i supported before that cannot fulfill his campaign promises before 2027 does not deserve and will not get my support in 2027
I can support different candidates from different political parties at the same time if I'm convinced of their intentions for the people. At the end of the day the parties are just platforms, the flag bearers are the main issues.
God bless Ofu LGA, God bless Kogi State and God bless Nigeria- Peter Martins Amodu "
