Covid-19: Explore New Opportunities To Benefit Your Families, Lagos SSG Charges Women

Secretary to Lagos State Government, Mrs Folashade Jaji has urged women to explore new opportunities thrown up by the global Covid-19 pandemic to the benefit of their families, saying that is the way to go in this season of the “New Normal.”

In an interview with Lagos Monitoring Team at the sidelines of the ongoing 2-day National Women Conference of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), Jaji said though the pandemic brought it challenges, however people, especially women must take good advantage of the opportunities inherent therein.

According to her, “As bad as Covid-19 has been because of the lives that have been lost, I think it has its other sides; it has its benefits and I think the benefit mostly is that it has given us an opportunity for new things; it has given us opportunity to do things differently and not to revert to old ways, especially when it comes to events that a lot of money is spent just for one day but now, its limited such that with few people, you would have achieved the same results.

“So, as the theme of this conference is that we have to explore new possibilities that the New Normal would afford us, I hope that women, especially are going to take advantage of this for their families.”

On the annual COWLSO conference, the SSG said it was gratifying that it had become a veritable platform to positively impact the society.

“The COWLSO conference is an opportunity for a lot of women from different walks of life to come together to brainstorm on issues; address issues that affect the nation or even women themselves and children.

“So, from that perspective, it’s always a welcome conference and people are always eager to come and attend because of the benefits that they derive from attending the conference,” she said.
