By the next day everything had changed.
That video I posted?
It didn’t just go viral… it EXPLODED.
Blogs started reposting it Instablog9ja, Legit.ng, YabaLeftOnline. everywhere.
But here’s the crazy part I didn’t even know.
It wasn’t until messages started flooding in from friends and family:
“Guy, you don blow o!”
“Celebrity!”
“I just saw you online!”
I rushed back to check… and boom
2000+ comments.
I couldn’t even keep up.
The first comment I saw?
“Na all this thing dey vex bandit.” 😂
I just laughed and thought… them go vex pass like this o.
That day at the parade ground, it was a different vibe entirely.
“Parade Commander!”
“Celebrity!”
“Instablog don carry you!”
At that moment… I won’t lie
I felt like a camp celebrity. 😄
People I didn’t know wanted pictures, conversations, connections.
And just like that, I made a lot of new friends.
But behind all that excitement, something was bothering me.
If I had posted that video on Facebook, I would have earned from it
my account was already monetized.
But life happened.
Facebook had disabled my account just a month before camp.
So while the views, comments, and hype were going up.
the money wasn’t coming in.
That one pain me small, I won’t lie.
Still the experience? Worth it.
That evening, it was time to select platoon leaders and excos.
I was in Platoon 1.
About 4 of us contested for Platoon Leader.
One guy even promised ₦50k to the platoon if he won.
Me? I didn’t have money to promise anybody.
So I said something simple:
“If I become your leader, I’ll do my best to make sure we come out on top in most activities.”
No big promises. Just commitment.
And somehow.
I WON.
Maybe it was the visibility.
Maybe it was the energy.
Or maybe people just believed me.
I even went further to contest for Camp Director.
but this time, I wasn’t selected.
I won’t lie I was a bit disappointed.
I came prepared, and in my mind, I knew I could deliver.
But life doesn’t always give you every position you want.
So I accepted it.
and focused on the ones I already had
Platoon Leader & General Parade Commander.
