KAEL BROUGHT SOMETHING HOME

People in the village say the woman in the forest never hunts alone.
Every night, her wolf disappears into the darkness… and always returns carrying something that belonged to someone missing.
Tonight, it came back with a muddy backpack.
But when Zyra opened it…
the phone inside was still recording

She vanished 7 years ago…
so why is she calling him at 2:13AM? ☎️🌧️

Would you answer the phone?

I genuinely don’t think Noah understood what silence could destroy until 2:13AM.

Because nothing about that phone call felt normal.

Not the time.
Not the voice.
Not the name flashing across his screen.

Elena.

A woman he hadn’t heard from in 7 years.

And somehow… she sounded exactly the same.

Noah answered expecting anger. Maybe even hatred. But Elena didn’t sound emotional at all. That’s what made it worse. She sounded calm. Controlled. Like someone who already survived the hardest part alone.

Then she said: “You still sleep with the window unlocked?”

And Noah froze.

Because that wasn’t a random memory. That was intimacy. The kind only one person would remember.

Suddenly the room didn’t feel safe anymore.

Then came the line that changed everything:

“She’s starting to ask about you now.”

She.

Not “someone.”
Not “a child.”

She.

And that was the moment Noah realized this call wasn’t about reopening the past.

It was about something he left behind inside it.

What destroys me is that Elena never once begged for sympathy. She never sounded weak. If anything, she sounded like someone carrying too much for too long and refusing to break in front of him.

Noah finally walked toward the window while still holding the phone.

And there she was.

Standing outside in the rain beside a parked car.

Not crying.
Not yelling.
Just waiting.

Then Noah noticed the child asleep in the backseat.

And suddenly every silence between them became heavier.

The last thing Elena said before the call ended was: “Don’t make me say her name over this phone.”

The child shifted slightly in her sleep.

Then quietly whispered:

“Daddy?”

And somehow… I already know Part 2 is going to hurt even more.

Because some people don’t return to destroy your life.

They return carrying proof that it was already broken.

🕯️ PART 2 — tomorrow, 8PM

what if the call wasn’t meant for him… but for someone still inside the house?

The future feels unfamiliar… but I am still here 🤍
