🚨🚨🚨🚨 Nigeria and Ethiopia have signed a Transfer of Sentenced Persons Agreement, allowing convicted citizens to serve the remainder of their prison terms in their home countries, subject to agreed conditions and applicable laws. More than 100 Nigerians are currently incarcerated in Ethiopia, including four women. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to humanity, justice and rehabilitation, recognizing the role of family and social support in the reintegration of offenders. Both countries have agreed to begin implementing the deal immediately.
