BREAKING: Clash Breaks Out Between Hausa and Igbo Traders in Kofar Ruwa, Kano

Tension flared in the Kofar Ruwa area of Kano following a reported confrontation between Hausa and Igbo traders inside the local market.

According to reports, the dispute started when a Hausa trader installed a small canopy over his stall to shield his goods. Some Igbo traders objected, saying the structure extended too close to the market lane and could hinder free movement.

Efforts to remove the canopy triggered a heated exchange, which later degenerated into a shouting match and brief scuffle.

Eyewitnesses said the situation gradually escalated before authorities intervened.

Security operatives quickly arrived at the scene, dispersed those involved, and prevented the incident from developing into a larger crisis. Some Hausa traders said the situation could have taken a more serious turn if it had not been swiftly contained.

Normalcy has since been restored in the area, with calls for all sides to maintain peace and avoid actions that could spark future tensions.
