I recently had a conversation with a friend who shared his belief that he isn’t truly happy because he’s not where he thinks he’s supposed to be or doing what he believes he’s meant to do.

I asked him, “Why tie your happiness to an achievement, a specific milestone, or a certain success?”

Too often, we fall into the trap of thinking, “I’ll be happy when I get that job, buy that car, or reach that goal.” But what about the days when those things aren’t in your grasp yet? What happens to your happiness then?

The truth is, happiness shouldn’t be a destination tied to a future accomplishment. It shouldn’t be boxed into achieving something specific. Instead, we should focus on falling in love with the journey. Embrace the process, find joy in the everyday moments, and learn to be content in the present.

Happiness is not about reaching a particular point but about appreciating every step along the way. Let's shift our mindset from "I'll be happy when..." to "I'm happy now, regardless of what I have or haven’t achieved."

I’ve recently come to a realization that I can no longer shy away from serving or taking responsibility. Growing up, I always avoided roles or responsibilities, i was quick to retreat whenever people were called upon to take certain roles or tasks. But now, I understand that service is the very pathway to greatness.

I’ve learned that taking responsibility not only shapes you but also opens doors to opportunities where others begin to identify your strengths. It’s in these moments of service that you find your value and allow others to see it too.

Today, I gained a profound insight that reinforced my belief that service is the true path to greatness. Not only service to God matters but it is equally crucial to serve our communities and those around us.

You see greatness is born from responsibility. It’s not enough to sit idle, hoping for success to fall into our laps. When we embrace responsibility, we open ourselves up to new perspectives, opportunities, and wisdom that we wouldn’t otherwise encounter.

•There are some lessons and revelations that only come through action, through stepping into roles that require us to serve.

• Service, in turn, paves the way for us to be served. As you would agree, that it is through selfless giving that we earn the right to receive. Service shapes us, molds us, and prepares us for what’s ahead.
• Yes there are different pathways to true greatness
• And yes, it requires knowledge, skill-building, and a shift in mindset. But, there is also a path to greatness and this is service. It is through serving others, whether in big or small ways, that we unlock doors to opportunities we never even imagined.

Greatness is not a singular achievement but a journey, and on this journey, service is the key that unlocks every hidden treasure along the way.

From this point forward, you’ll find me embracing every opportunity to serve, no matter how small. Whether in a leadership role or a simple task, I’ve realized that each act of service adds to the journey of becoming who I’m meant to be. Greatness is built through service, and I’m ready to take that on, one step at a time.
