TOPIC: THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION [1]
PRAYER: Philippians: 1. 9. "And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10. That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; 11. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God."
TEXT: Luke: 4. 18. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
Good evening beloved, how was your day?
Today we begin another short series on the subject of Salvation. We want to really dig deep, to examine what really is the message me Salvation. If Bible says in John 10:17 that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God... So what then is that message that brings salvation (we will see shortly, may God guide our heart through his word and enlighten the eyes of our understanding to receive his word... Amen!) so let's take off
First, it is imperative for us to understand what the word GOSPEL is. This is a word that is used
98 times in the New Testament, let's pay close attention to it.
Let's consider our text above:
Luke: 4. 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
Look at the way the Amplified version puts it
AMP:The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],"
Did you notice the gospel is interested to am "GOOD NEWS" and that's what it is, a good report that brings reassurance, comfort and hope.
But actually, a news will have a content, from our text, let's examine what constitute this good news
Luke: 4. 18. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
Like I always say, in Bible study, it important for us to pay attention to details or else you will fall into error.
Notice the semi colon (;) after the poor, in the above text (check it.. Did you see it?)
He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
What follows after are comas (,)
Now I'm English language, this implies that every listing that result after the semi-colon are a subset of the phrase before the semi-colon. (for example: BANK; GT, FIRST, SKY, WEMA etc. they are all subset of Bank)
That is,
"...he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
Are what is encompassed in or what is referred as
"...because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
In other words, the the content of the gospel preached are... That broken heart are healed, deliverance to the captives... Notice every thing about the gospel revolves around giving hope to hopeless people, healing the wounded soul, comforting the downtrodden and refreshing the thirty soul... (that's the good news, that's the gospel and that's the massage of SALVATION) to be continued...

PRAYER: 2cor. 1:11(Kjv)"Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf".
TOPIC: The Pauline Prayers. (1)
Good evening dear friend, how was your day, hope you are growing spiritually?.
This should be our last series on prayer, which will be in two parts, today and tomorrow.
Please note, it's not enough for you to read and share the article, you must endeavour to be a doer of God's word, you don't grow in prayer by learning how to pray, but until you start praying... For the benefit of those that missed any of the teaching on prayers and for emphasis, we will do a repeat broadcast Next Week and more so, you can always refer to our FB page for other articles.
(FB page link below)
Today want to look a topic called the Pauline Prayers, meaning the prayers Paul taught the church to pray. And this is a guide on praying according to God's will.
I urge you to spend quality time, to pray each of this prayers, they borne of the word and led of the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul.
1. Ephesians 1:16-19 (Kjv)[16] "Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
[17] That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
[18] The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of his glory of his inheritance in the saints,
[19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,"
Paul prays for the brethren and the Church at large, what was the content of his prayer to them?
That they may be filled with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God.
Wow! What a prayer, when you are filled with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, it means you will have an in depth knowledge of what God wants you to do per time. You will have dept of intimate relationship with God and you will be led by the Spirit of God all the days of your life.
Imagine praying this prayer every day of the year? You will have an unquenchable desire for God's word, and you will walk and work in God's will and direction all the days of your life.
2. Ephesians 6:18-19 (Kjv) "Praying always with all prayers and supplication IN the spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints:
[19] And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, "
Examine the prayer request Paul requested the church to pray for him; not that his enemies be scattered or financial increase, but that he will be enabled to wax stronger in the work of the ministry, that he will loose focus and direction.
This is the same prayers the church is meant to be praying for their pastors on a daily basis and every minister of the gospel.
3. Philippians 1:9-11 (Kjv) [9]"And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgement;
[10] That yeah may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
[11] Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto glory and praise to God. "
Once again this prayer concerns itself with the Spiritual growth of every believer, in our daily living with men
Note: if you read yesterday's post, you will understand that Paul was going in line with prioritization in prayer that Jesus gave his disciples in Mat 6:9-13 (the Lords prayer) where Jesus taught them to put the will of God first in their prayers... And seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and Evey other things shall be added unto you.
Apostle Paul practically followed this principle, and that's what we call the Pauline Prayers, that is, praying according to God's will. This should be the reality of every believer and the Church at large.
We continue tomorrow by God's grace.
God bless 👉You

PRAYER:Colossians1:9
(Kjv) "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;" That the Lord will fill our heart with the knowledge of His will.
TOPIC: Praying According To God's will
TEXT: 1john 5:14 (Kjv) "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:"
Good evening beloved, how has been your communion with God today in prayer? It can only get better, keep at it... Keep training yourself to pray. (I want you to know that we are not in a hurry on this subject of Prayer, because it's the bedrock for every spiritual manifestations: when we are through with this series on prayer, we will re-broadcast it again for emphasis before we go to other subjects.)
Today we want to examine what it means to pray according to God's will, we examined what prayer is not. It unfortunate that many pray with lack of understanding...
Let's consider our text
1john 5:14 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his WILL, he heareth us; "
So this means God will answer our prayers when we ask according to his will. And the other side is, he will not answer if it's not according to his will...
So the question is what does it mean to pray according to his will?
In our last edition, we established that the prayer Jesus taught his disciples in Mat. 6:9-13, was not a prayer manual or prescription, but that Jesus taught them priority in prayers... How that they may put God first in every aspect of their lives...
In Mat.9:38 (Kjv) "Pray ye therefore the Lord of harvest that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."
Jesus did not make them repeat that prayer in mat. 6:9-13(the Lord's prayer) but here also, Jesus was teaching them what is important in prayer is the Will of God... That many come to the knowledge of Christ and faith in His work of redemption, which will bring about the establishment of God's kingdom on earth (thy kingdom come, as it is in heaven...)
Furthermore, Jesus explicitly explained this further in Mat. 6:25-34 (pls read it yourself)
(Kjv) [25] "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink: nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not life more than raiment? [32] (For after all these things do the gentiles seek:) For your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things
[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
I think that's clear enough, Jesus was explaining "the Lord's prayer... "
Also, when you pray for God's will to be done (Note this does not mean a carefree attitude in prayer saying "what will be will be, lord let thy will be done) NO! his will is that his kingdom be established here on earth as it is in heaven.
So when you pray, of what benefit is it, to making God's kingdom being established on earth?
Does your request glorify God or glorifies you? Does it magnifies God or water down His reality?
Let's consider this passage.
1Samuel 1:10-11 (Kjv) "And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.
[11] And she vowed a vow, and said, o Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I WILL GIVE HIM UNTO THE LORD ALL THE DAYS OF HIS LIFE, and there shall no razor come upon his head. "
Hannah has been coming to Shiloh all this years but her prayer content or motive was personal: she wants a child so that here sister and friends will stop mocking her as barren. That's self glorification and actualization.
But at this point, Hannah struck the cord. She tailored her request according to God's will.
God new all along what she was passing through, but she was asking wrongly, until she discovered God's benefit in her request she never got answer.
In verse 21, she got her request. Because she prayed according to God's will...
Beloved it is not enough to pray, but to pray in God's will...
Pray that many heart will believe Christ and be saved, pray that the gospel of Christ will continually grow in every nations of the World, pray for ministers of the gospel that they be led by the Spirit of the Lord, pray that the kingdom of God be established on earth as it is in heaven, in Evey heart, nations, states, towns and families.
Put God first in your prayer not yourself.. For God knows your needs, when you do His first, he will do yours... Be consistent in prayer dear... God bless👉You. We win...
