Text: 1 John 1: 5
Message
Brethren, we should not just go anywhere on our own. We should be guided by God's word.
Like the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32, some of us are on a journey we weren't sent. We are persisting in a way that could bring destruction.
For the prodigal son, he went on a journey without a root plan; he had neither a plan nor a schedule of when he would return.
I pray that the counsel of God alone will prevail in your life.
Remember, His thoughts toward you are of good, not of evil.
The scripture in 1 John 1: 5 tells us that God is light, and in him there is no darkness. We express the light of God as we serve in His vineyard. Let’s also see Matthew 4:16.
Let’s understand that when a person is ill, the only thought on their mind is how to get well. All other issues become blurry. So, there is darkness in that instance.
The same thing happens when you have no money on you. The only thing in mind then would be on how to get some money to meet your needs. The same applies when you lose a loved one; everything becomes blurry when your loved one dies.
In Acts 26: 18, we see the story as Paul talks about how to liberate the people by turning them from darkness to light; “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
We face a lot of challenges because we have been immersed in darkness. This explains how darkness must have engulfed the prodigal son as he embarked on a journey that nobody sent him.
In 2 Kings 8:19 - God promised not to destroy Judah because of David, whom he loved. We must behave in ways that would encourage people to serve God. One sure way to such encouragement is by showing love through "giving."
In 1 Kings 12:4- The people came to appeal to Rehoboam to make the yoke lighter. But he refused. He vowed to add to the yoke against the people. So, he continued in wickedness.
Acts 9:5 shows us a situation of someone working against themselves. Saul was persecuting Jesus, but Jesus turned him around. God detest half-heartedness, because light and darkness cannot dwell together.
It is truth, that you cannot attack some people. Even f you do, the end result will be injury; Prov.17:13 says whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house..
*Never reward good with evil.
In Psalm 119:105; “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” It simply says God's word helps us to know where to step our feet and where not to. Stop, if you want to do anything contrary to God's word. Think about how your wrong deeds can get to the next generations.
When it comes to decision-making, the word springs up and guides you. In John 8:12 - Jesus said they that follow him shall walk in light. But, anyone who acts against themselves is like cancer. Cancer will ultimately die with the person.
In Matthew 2: 2, we see how wise men came to worship Jesus, the King who had been born. But in verse 3, Herod was recorded as being unhappy. He wanted to destroy Jesus.
It is clear that anyone who goes about to places they were not sent would only waste their time. Light and darkness cannot stay together.

Text: Jonah 1:1-2
Message
When God is not part of a thing, that thing becomes darkness and shaky.
Let's see the story of Jonah.
Jonah 1:1-2
There was clear communication between God and Jonah; there was no doubt about what Jonah heard. He heard the instruction clearly.
*We see that man's wickedness comes up to God from time to time.
God sees all the wickedness that man does. But man thinks that because God hasn't responded, he may not be seeing those things.
You need to stop the wrong thing that you are doing.
God was not happy with what Nineveh was doing. So, God sent Jonah to Nineveh. Rather than go to Nineveh, Jonah arose and went to Tarshish; Jonah 1:3.
Even around you, some people do the wrong things, but think that you don’t really know, because you haven't talked. They tell lies, but you just look at them, leaving them to think that you don’t know.
In this account, Jonah discounted the harmony that he experienced with God, and ran away from the instructions God gave him. He did this because he didn’t want to go to where God had sent him.
I want you to reflect on this in your life. Whenever you realise you have refused to do what God asked you to, turn around and do that thing. It will be for your good.
Know this- when your father asks you to do something, as long as it is not against God and not against the land, please do that thing. It is useful to listen to your parents.
Verse 4; But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
All manner of things would happen when you move contrary to what God has asked you to do.
Verse 5; Jonah was certainly out of his mind as he slept while the ship suffered tumultuous waves. Meanwhile, he knew what he had done.
Ultimately, Jonah was thrown out of the ship and was swallowed by a fish.
Every time you move away from God's instruction, there is darkness. You stumble! It becomes more difficult when you move out of God's presence.
We see Saul's story; his occupation in life was to pursue Christians. So, check yourself and ask who sent you on any journey you embark on. Please, don't go on your own will. Follow what God sends you.
Always ask yourself “who sent me on this journey."
In Numbers 32:13:
God let a generation of Israel to wander for 40 years in the wilderness until that generation left. A kind of darkness was over them.
Going round in circles is not God's plans for your life. Ask God for help. Review your own activities, because God made you for progress.
We see the vision of Ananais concerning Saul's life. Saul's life changed.
Pray, every time you wake up pray that God divides the light from the darkness for you daily.
In 2 Corinthians 6:14; says “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? But we find it difficult to do this, because we stay in a mixed society.
But, we must learn wisdom as the Bible gives. We must look deeper, particularly when it comes to relationships and marriage.
Remember, light and darkness cannot dwell together. Walk with someone who has similar belief system, than walk with someone who plans to 'change.'
A prayer; Father, please remove every darkness from my life. Help me to obey in every aspect of my life.

Theme: Divine Partnership
Ministering: Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Text; 1 Samuel 2:6-9
Message
Partnership is when two or more people are working together for the greater benefit of the parties concerned.
When we say divine, then we are talking about God. That is, God becoming your partner. If you partner with God, you cannot fail. But, you will fail when you do it alone, however clever you think you are; If not in partnership with God, the end result will be failure.
Know this, when God is your partner, there is nothing you cannot achieve.
In Exodus 3:1-15, we read the story of when God came to set the children of Israel free from the sufferings in Egypt. When God turned to Moses to help bring out the children of Israel from Egypt, Moses expressed fears. But God promised to be with him. In other words, God said he would be his partner
Joshua 1:1-9; God said Joshua would succeed where his master had failed. But Joshua thought that Moses was too great for God to say he would be greater than Moses. Though Joshua wondered, but God repeated his words three times, assuring Joshua that he would succeed.
*I pray for somebody here, may any bo***ge you may have been before end today. Amen.
The blessings of the Lord maketh rich!
1 Samuel 17:34-51; we read the story of David and Goliath.
You see, there is no giant like poverty. I know at it is to be poor.
In Prov: 22:7, the Bible says “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” But, God can move you from the lowest level to the highest level...He can pick you up from the dustbin and promote you until you begin to dine with kings.
1Kings 17:8-16 tells us about the window's story with Elijah. She had only a little meal left for herself and her son. But Elijah requested for that last meal. The woman obeyed and from that moment she never lacked again.
2 Chronicles 1: 6-15 ; If you consistently partner with God, He will take you go higher and higher.
After Solomon had the encounter with God, he increased his offerings.
David was a shepherd boy, but he made God his partner. He promised to build an iconic house for God.
Let's see the story of 1Kings 19:4-8; Elijah by the Brooks of Cherith.
The worst thing that can happen to any man is for God to withdraw his partnership with you.
When God left Samson the enemy plucked out his eyes.
By strength shall no man prevail. You need God to be your partner.
May God never leave you alone. Amen!
