You find out that everything school has taught you to apply is ineffective when it comes to facing life.

The beauty in life is that growth often happens in unexpected places. Life sometimes is a hard teacher.

But the lessons it teaches you leave a mark in you.

What career lesson has life shaped you?

Have you ever struggled with something before? Could be a skill, a project or task and you found yourself confused and overwhelmed at the same time.

In 2022, when I graduated from ALX as a virtual assistant, I wanted to make money immediately. I thought the skills I had were enough until I heard "send a portfolio" from a recruiter.

At that time, I did not know what a portfolio was. I did my research, watched some videos on YouTube and was able to grasp a few things about a portfolio and making one.

I went on canva, I tried to start, I created a vague portfolio, like it was not enough to be called a solid portfolio.

I now know why I didn't get jobs with my first portfolio.

But I never stopped learning. I was curious and had an appetite to learn. The second attempt at creating a portfolio was better than the first.

Thankfully my experience at Smarketers Hub opened me to Notion, a go-to tool for work and productivity.

Now, I can create a comprehensive portfolio on Notion and canva that sells my works.

This is me celebrating and looking back to my growth, no matter how little they are.

August was a long month for me honestly. But we are thankful that we are here in September.
This is about how I started from the year 2022 and my life has changed. Literally!!. I remembered when it was only teaching I knew how to do. But we are here in 2024, growing well and blossoming.
