The six-player shortlist for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award has been announced.

Arsenal’s Premier League-winning trio Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya have all been nominated.

Joining them on the list are Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, who both enjoyed strong individual seasons.

Their main competition for the prize will be Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, who has already been crowned the Football Writers’ Association’s (FWA) men’s Footballer of the Year.

Fernandes was also named the Premier League’s Player of the Season award last week after an historic season.

The 31-year-old set a new league record of 21 assists in a campaign while helping United to qualify for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Haaland won his third Premier League Golden Boot award after firing in 27 goals, while Cherki has won over fans with his dazzling displays following his £30million arrival last summer.

The winners will be announced on Tuesday, August 25 at the 53rd annual PFA Awards Ceremony in Manchester.
