Easter Monday was a whole vibe 😌☀️

Nothing beats good energy, good weather & peace of mind ✨

How did you spend yours?

04/04/2026

Growing up, I knew this denomination of Christians who would not eat meat on 'Good Friday'.

'Good Friday', is the day Jesus Christ laid down his life, and on the Sunday that followed, he rose from the dead. That is Easter day or Easter Sunday .

Back to 'Good Friday ', I remember meeting a few who practiced that abstinence and yes, it was a common talk way back.

So, on Good Fridays, there were some sort of scarcity of meat in the markets because the demand was low.

The belief was that because Jesus died on a 'good Friday ', if you ate meat, you were eating his body. So , if you honoured him, you should abstain from eating meat on that day.

Fish was more expensive on those days because the demand was high.

I have tried to understand how that ideology was birthed. Looking back, it's actually an "off thought". A reasoning that is "OFF".

Jesus said we should eat his flesh and drink his blood, (the communion). He encourages us to do it often, as often as possible in remembrance of him.

Again, I ask, where did that idea of avoiding meat on good Fridays come from.

Did you ever hear of any such belief,

Were you one of those who practised it

Do you know anyone who did or is still practicing it.

I would like to hear from you.

Today is holy Saturday, the day after 'Good Friday'.

Did you eat meat yesterday? I DID 😆 plenty of it at that

May it be good for you and your loved ones.

May it be good for Nigeria.

Amen.

🙏
