POLICE RECRUITMENT UPDATE:
PRESS RELEASE

RECRUITMENT OF 50,000 CONSTABLES INTO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE: Portal opens; applications invited as PSC, NPF commit to a seamless process.

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is pleased to announce the commencement of recruitment of Fifty Thousand (50,000) Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force, as directed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Following this Presidential directive aimed at strengthening community policing, enhancing internal security and expanding the manpower base of the Nigeria Police Force, the Commission has approved the opening of the recruitment portal for applications from eligible Nigerians.

Qualifications:
General Duty cadre applicants must be holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents with
a minimum of five (5) credits (including
English Language and Mathematics) in not
more than two sittings.

Specialists cadre applicants must be holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents with a minimum of four (4) credits (including English Language and Mathematics) in not
more than two sittings. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience and Trade Tests in relevant fields/areas is required.

Eligibility:
Interested candidates must:
✓ Be Nigerian citizens by birth
✓ Be aged between 18 and 25 years for General Duty; 18 to 28 years for Specialists
✓ Be medically, physically and psychologically fit
✓ Not be less than 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female) in height (for General Duty only)
✓ Meet other requirements as shall be specified on the recruitment portal

The recruitment portal will be open from Monday, 15 December 2025 to Sunday, 25 January 2026.

POLICE COLLEGE MAIDUGURI SET FOR PASSING OUT PARADE

1. The Police College Maiduguri has concluded all necessary preparations for the Passing Out Parade scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 7th October, 2025.

2. Ahead of the event, the Reviewing Officer, AIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, psc, fwc, MNIM, fdc, in company of the Commandant Police College Maiduguri, AIG Mu’azu Usman Muhammed, psc (+); the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid; and the Deputy Commandant Police College Maiduguri, DCP Isa Abubakar Adamu, carried out an inspection of the parade ground.

3. The senior officers expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness and assured members of the public that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a successful and hitch-free Passing Out Parade.

4. The event is expected to attract top members the security agencies, government officials, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries from within and outside Borno State, as the newly trained recruits officially complete their basic police training and prepare for deployment to various formations across the country.
