JUST IN: Defence Minister Musa: Terrorist$ and Bandit$ Are Hard to Defeat$ Because Some Nigerians Are Helping Them

Nigeria’s Defence Minister, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), says the fight against terrorism, banditry, and insurgency remains difficult because some people within local communities are secretly helping the criminals.

Speaking at The Platform on Democracy Day, Musa said terrorists and bandits cannot survive on their own. According to him, they get food, water, information, and other support from people living around them.

He described these helpers as the “oxygen” that keeps the criminals alive, asking: “Who is funding them? Who is giving them information and logistics? It is still the people.”

The minister stressed that insecurity is not only the government’s problem but a responsibility for all Nigerians. He urged citizens to report suspicious activities and stop protecting criminals if the country truly wants to defeat terrorism and banditry.
