20 years forgotten, left to die in a filthy prison.

Arrested in 1952 by the Communist regime in China, Watchman Nee was accused of crimes he did not commit—labeled an enemy for preaching Christ outside state control.

He was sentenced to prison.

He would never come out.

Years turned into decades—
cold walls, forced labor, silence.

The pulpit was gone.
The crowds were gone.
But Christ was not.

For 20 years, he endured behind bars—forgotten by the world, but not by God.

When he died in 1972, they found almost nothing left of him.

No legacy in the eyes of men.

Just a small scrap of paper beneath his pillow which read -

“Christ is the Son of God who died for the redemption of sinners and resurrected after three days. This is the greatest truth in the universe. I die because of my belief in Christ.”
