Introduction
On February 10, 2026, the NBAIS Area Office successfully held its first official meeting at the Bida Local Secretariat and subsequently carried out a sensitization and advocacy visit to CAIS Zanchita in Zanchita village under Gbadafu, Gbako Local Government Area.
Area Office Meeting
The meeting commenced at 9:40 a.m. at the Bida Local Secretariat. It marked the first formal gathering of the Area Office and provided an opportunity to deliberate on strategies for strengthening NBAIS activities, improving coordination, and enhancing outreach within the area.
Discussions focused on planning, sensitization efforts, and improving awareness of NBAIS examinations and their recognition. The meeting was productive and concluded successfully at 11:30 a.m.
Sensitization and Advocacy Visit
Following the meeting, the team embarked on a journey to Zanchita village under Gbadafu in Gbako Local Government Area to conduct a sensitization and advocacy visit to CAIS Zanchita.
The visit was aimed at creating awareness about NBAIS mandate, encouraging participation in NBAIS examinations, and strengthening collaboration with the school. The engagement provided an opportunity to enlighten stakeholders on the recognition and benefits of NBAIS certificates for students pursuing further education.
Conclusion
The day’s activities were successfully carried out, marking a significant step in strengthening NBAIS presence and outreach within the Area Office jurisdiction. The successful conduct of the first meeting and the sensitization visit demonstrates the commitment of the Area Office to expanding awareness and fostering collaboration with educational institutions in Niger State.

NBAIS Niger State Office Pays Advocacy Visit to Director General, Schools and Education Reform
The Niger State Office of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has paid a sensitization and advocacy visit to the Director General, Schools and Education Reform, Niger State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed, as part of efforts to strengthen awareness and collaboration within the state’s education sector.
The visit, led by the NBAIS Desk Officer in Niger State, Mallam Jibril Suleiman, was aimed at formally introducing NBAIS, clarifying its mandate, and correcting common misconceptions surrounding the Board’s operations. The delegation emphasized that NBAIS is a national examination body, not a purely religious institution, and that its examinations are nationally recognized and allow candidates to respond in both Arabic and English.
During the engagement, Mallam Jibril Suleiman explained the role of NBAIS in promoting inclusive education and providing alternative examination pathways for students, particularly those in Arabic and Islamic schools. He also highlighted the legal recognition of NBAIS examinations by key regulatory bodies across Nigeria.
In her response, the Director General expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged that the discussion had broadened her understanding of NBAIS and its functions. She noted that the objectives of NBAIS align with the Ministry’s vision, particularly in promoting moral, value-based, and inclusive education as part of societal development.
Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed encouraged NBAIS to intensify its sensitization and advocacy efforts, stressing the need for wider stakeholder awareness across the state. She further assured the delegation of her willingness to support the Board by facilitating another meeting with key education stakeholders in Niger State to deepen engagement and collaboration.
The Director General also disclosed that the Ministry is currently implementing education sector reforms, and stated that considerations would be explored to integrate NBAIS, alongside relevant bodies, into the reform framework. She assured the delegation that NBAIS would receive due attention at the appropriate levels.
The meeting was described as fruitful and constructive, reinforcing the commitment of both parties to work together in advancing education development in Niger State.

NIGER SSG CALLS FOR STRONGER COLLABORATION WITH FEDERAL ESTABLISHMENTS TO DRIVE NEW NIGER AGENDA
The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has called for enhanced collaboration between the Niger State Government and Federal Establishments operating within the State to fast-track development and ensure effective service delivery to the people.
Alhaji Usman made this call while delivering remarks at the Quarterly Meeting of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in Niger State, held at the Conference Hall of the SSG's Office in Minna. The meeting brought together key Federal stakeholders and State Government officials to deliberate on areas of mutual cooperation and policy alignment.
The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) desk officer was ably represented at the meeting by the Assistant Head of Examinations, Mallam Tasiu Hairu.

NBAIS Niger State Pays Courtesy and Advocacy Visit to NTA Niger State
The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Niger State Office, paid a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Niger State.
The NBAIS team was led by the Niger State Desk Officer, Mallam Suleiman Jibril and was warmly received by the General Manager of NTA Niger State, Hajiya Talatu Lawal.
During the visit, the Desk Officer briefed the management of NTA on the mandate of NBAIS, its aims, and its agenda towards improving educational standards and supporting the holistic development of the Nigerian child. He also sought the support and partnership of NTA in the areas of awareness creation and public sensitization.
In her response, Hajiya Talatu Lawal explained the workings of NTA and emphasized the importance of television and social media in effective sensitization and awareness creation. She expressed her support for NBAIS and its mission.
The visit was fruitful and strengthened collaboration towards promoting education, awareness, and national development.

NBAIS Niger State Office Advances Awareness Drive at the Ministry of Agriculture, Niger State
The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Niger State Office, paid a courtesy, advocacy, and sensitisation visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Niger State, Hon. Sidi Isah Rijau, as part of its ongoing awareness drive across key ministries in the state.
The NBAIS delegation was led by its Desk Officer, Mallam Jibril Suleiman, who explained the mandate of the Board, its establishment, progress recorded so far, as well as the challenges currently facing NBAIS in the discharge of its responsibilities.
In his response, Hon. Sidi Isah Rijau commended the efforts of NBAIS and advised the Board to intensify its awareness drive by engaging more ministries, visiting grassroots communities, and sensitising stakeholders across the various Local Government Areas of Niger State. He further expressed his readiness to foster synergy and collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and NBAIS for effective service delivery and mutual development.
The Honourable Commissioner wished NBAIS success in all its endeavours and reaffirmed his support for initiatives that promote educational development and community advancement in the state.

NBAIS Niger State Office on Familiarization and Advocacy Visit to Hon. Commissioner of NOMADIC
The Niger State Office of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) paid a familiarization and advocacy visit to the Hon. Commissioner for NOMADIC, Hon. Umar A. Rebe, as part of its ongoing stakeholder engagement and awareness drive.
The visit was led, as usual, by the vibrant Desk Officer of the NBAIS Niger State Office, Mallam Sulaiman Jibril, alongside members of the NBAIS Familiarization/Advocacy Team.
During the engagement, the Desk Officer formally introduced the NBAIS Niger State Office management and highlighted its statutory responsibility of overseeing and coordinating NBAIS-affiliated schools across Niger State. He emphasized the need for strong collaboration between NBAIS and the Ministry of NOMADIC, given their shared objectives in promoting quality education.
In his remarks, Hon. Umar A. Rebe warmly welcomed the team and expressed his appreciation for NBAIS, noting that he is himself a product of the NBAIS examination system, having participated in the H.I.S and Grade II examinations (now SAISSCE). He shared insightful perspectives on the historical, cultural, and religious misconceptions surrounding examination bodies and Western education in Northern Nigeria.
The Hon. Commissioner offered valuable advice to the team and assured NBAIS Niger State Office of his full support, pledging to engage the Niger State Government, including the Executive Governor, on possible ways to further uplift and strengthen NBAIS in line with its noble mandate.

NBAIS Niger State Office Pays Courtesy Visit to Radio Niger (BCNS)
The Niger State Office of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) paid a courtesy visit to the Broadcasting Corporation of Niger State (BCNS), popularly known as Radio Niger, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and public awareness.
The delegation from the NBAIS Niger State Office was led by the Desk Officer, Mallam Jibril Suleiman, and was warmly received by the General Manager of BCNS, Mallam Muhammed Kolo, alongside members of his management and staff.
The meeting was highly fruitful and interactive, focusing on areas of mutual interest and opportunities for partnership between both institutions. Discussions centered on the critical role of the media in promoting education, enlightenment, and public sensitization across the state.
During the engagement, the NBAIS team emphasized its mandate in fostering quality, inclusive, and standardized education. It was clearly highlighted that NBAIS examinations are open to all students from all walks of life, regardless of religious background, and that both Christians and Muslims are eligible to sit for NBAIS examinations. This clarification was aimed at dispelling misconceptions and encouraging wider participation.
The team further explained NBAIS’s role in accreditation, certification, and quality assurance, as well as its commitment to protecting the academic future of the Nigerian child. The importance of media collaboration in reaching grassroots communities and educating the public on the mission, mandate, and opportunities provided by NBAIS was also stressed.
In response, the management of Radio Niger expressed readiness to partner with NBAIS through educational programs, public enlightenment broadcasts, interviews, and jingles that will help deepen public understanding of NBAIS activities across Niger State.

NBAIS Niger State Office Pays Courtesy Visit to the Etsu Agaie
The Niger State Office of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), led by the Niger State Desk Officer, Mallam Jibril Suleiman, paid a courtesy visit to the Etsu Agaie, His Royal Highness Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu.
