DON'T WASTE YOUR MARTYRDOM

Dear Christian,

Don't waste your martyrdom.

If it gets to a point where you are martyred in this wicked world. Please don't waste your martyrdom.

And here's how not to waste your martyrdom.

"Forgive those who persecute you and also pray and ask God to forgive them".

We see this exemplified by Jesus and some martyrs recorded in the holy Bible.

One remarkable thing I noticed about the martyrs who forgave their persecutors and prayed the prayer of forgiveness upon them is that, their persecutors by divine compulsion took over their assignment on the earth.

Examples...

JESUS

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

These words is the reason even the most sinful humans can be saved today.

STEPHEN

Acts 7:58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Apostle Paul's testimony.

Acts 22:20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

Now! Here's the mystery.

Every mastermind behind the martyr of a Christian is at risk of becoming an instant replacement for the one killed.

I strongly believe that apostle Paul got saved because of apostle Stephen's prayer of mercy. After the death of Stephen, Saul who later became Paul was immediately arrested by Jesus Christ and commissioned to preach the gospel to the Gentiles.

We see from apostle Paul's own witness, that he didn't preach the gospel by choice but by divine compulsion.

1 Corinthians 9:16 (NLT). Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!

And we know how many great preachers and evangelists arose from the ministry of apostle Paul. Invariably the ministry of the martyr Stephen was not cut short.

This is the reason Jesus Christ taught his followers to love, bless and pray for their persecutors.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

King David by divine inspiration said, when we do good to our enemies and persecutors, we bring them under divine judgement.

Proverbs 25:21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

So dear Christian, next time you are persecuted, love, bless and pray for the forgiveness of your persecutors. By doing so, you are bringing them into a divine compulsion to bear the cross of the gospel of Jesus Christ. AMEN.
