💔 “She Used My WAEC Result to Get into University — But 10 Years Later, I Was the Guest Speaker at Her Graduation.”
Written by Rosyworld CRN

---

PART ONE — ONE RESULT, TWO LIVES

We wrote WAEC the same year — Amara and me.

She was the pastor’s daughter.

I was the house help in their compound.

I studied under the corridor light at night.

She had a private tutor.

When results came out, I scored 8 A’s.

She had 4 F9s.

Madam cried.

Sir screamed.

But I celebrated in silence.

Until the day I overheard them whispering in the parlour.

> “Let’s use Ngozi’s result. She has no family. Who will ask?”

---

PART TWO — THE SWAP

Madam called me into the room.

Smiling.

> “Ngozi, how are you? You’re a smart girl. We love you. But Amara… she needs this more.”

> “What do you mean?”

> “We’ve already submitted your result under her name. You’ll stay here and continue helping us.”

I stood frozen.

> “What about me?”

> “You? You were never meant for university.”

I cried that night till my voice cracked.

But nobody heard.

---

PART THREE — THE ESCAPE

Two months later, I ran away.

Left with a polythene bag, ₦2,000 and my original result slip — the one they tore and dumped, but I had photocopied secretly.

I moved to Owerri. Slept in a church for two weeks.

Then I got a job at a restaurant.

By 2014, I enrolled in a community college through part-time classes.

Worked in the day. Studied at night.

Graduated top of my class.

---

PART FOUR — THE BOOK THEY COULDN’T Silence

I wrote a memoir:

> “Stolen Scores: The Girl Behind the Result.”

It spread like wildfire.

Interviews. TEDx. NGO scholarships.

I was invited to speak at youth conferences across Africa.

Became an education reform advocate.

Until one day… I got an invitation letter.

UNIZIK Final Year Guest Speaker Invitation.

The name on the signatory?

Amara Chidiebere.

The same girl who wore my destiny like lipstick.

---

PART FIVE — THE SPEECH THAT SHOOK THE HALL

I arrived in a green lace gown.
