NIGERIA @ 60: THE NEED FOR INDIVIDUAL IMPROVEMENT AND RELEVANT NATIONAL REFORMS.

60years ago, Nigeria was emancipated from the chains of colonialism and was granted independence from Great Britain which was its Colonial Master.

This great deed was achievable as a result of the United front and collective efforts maintained by our Nationalists who despite their differences in Culture, language, religion, traditional etc resolved to fight for the liberation and general good of Nigeria.

As Nigeria clocks 60years Today, the country has faced and continues to face various challenges confronting the legitimacy of our independence ranging from insecurity, seccetionist agitations, poor economy, infrastructural development, bad governance etc.

These challenges we face as a nation has made a wrong impact and given a wrong impression in the minds of the Nigerian citizens that all hope is lost in the country as most citizens have distanced their selves from the independence celebrations.

But I stand vehemently to assure our people that all hope is not lost. We should always bear in mind that Nigeria is a project for both the Leaders and citizens to join forces together and salvage the Nation from the numerous challenges it is facing and ensure a more viable, peaceful, United, stable and accommodating country where peace, unity and continuous Progress will be our watchword.

I on this auspicious occasion of Nigeria's 60th independence celebration implore Nigerians not to give up on our dear country. Rather, we should give room for improvements and always give our quota to the development of the country.

Nigeria was created on the foundation of collective responsibility, where all hands should be on deck to set things right in the country and profer possible solutions to the impending challenges we're facing as a Nation.

As citizens, our country needs us to flourish, grow and develop effectively. We should not continue to see it as the sole responsibility of the Leaders to develop Nigeria because we all have a role to play and if this country fails totally, we have all failed as citizens.

The above reasons is why we must resolve to engage ourselves in critical thinking and strategic planning to salvage Nigeria from further collapse. This will only be achieved if we support the country in making necessary reforms that will facelift our Electoral system, Economy, Leadership structures etc.

A Nigeria of our dreams is possible if we all take responsibility to set things right and not contribute the already vast problems Nigeria is currently facing. We should take upon ourselves the obligation of rebuilding Nigeria and not loose faith in it.

Nigeria is an entity which would not exist and make significant progress without the support of citizens.

The Vision of making Nigeria a better place starts from our daily individual dealings and engagements.
