We cannot fix a crisis if we don't confront its scale. Obstetric fistula is not just a medical condition; it is a visible symptom of deep-seated systemic failures, and Nigeria sits at the epicenter of this global issue.

With over 100,000 women currently suffering nationwide and 12,000 new cases added annually, this is an urgent call for structural change. When rural infrastructure isolates communities, when local clinics lack basic emergency surgical equipment, and when young girls face pregnancy before their bodies are mature, birth trauma becomes predictable.

No woman should have her health, dignity, and future stolen because of where she lives or what she can afford. Shifting the narrative means moving away from viewing survivors with pity, and instead demanding the political willpower, healthcare funding, and infrastructure required to protect them.

Swipe to see why this crisis persists in 2026. ➡️

Did you know today is International Biodiversity Day? 🌍
What is biodiversity? It’s the "Web of Life" the variety of all living things that keep our planet running.
Why does it matter for your health? A healthy ecosystem provides the clean air we breathe, the safe water we drink, and the medicine we use. When biodiversity suffers, our health is at risk.

The global theme is "Be part of the Plan," and you can start today:
🚮 Bag it & Bin it: Plastic ruins our soil and water.
🌱 Plant & Nurture: More greenery means cleaner air for you.
🗣️ Speak up: Tell a friend! Your voice is a tool for change.
Do your bit to make the earth better for everyone. Join the Teen Green Team! 💪✨
