JOHN DUMELO is an inspiration in Africa

“All I want is to eliminate hunger in my community, across Africa, and beyond. Rice, a cereal consumed by many Africans, has become increasingly expensive. This is why I urge you to join me in the cultivation of rice so we can reduce importation and promote self-sufficiency.

Let us consume our own healthy rice and avoid importing what we can produce with our rich, fertile soils. I am not one to sit back and send others to the farm but I am actively on the fields, leading by example through my agricultural company, Melo Foods.
At Melo Foods, we produce:
• Rice
• Ginger
• Yam
• Pepper
• Potatoes
• Beans
…and many more crops to come.

I encourage young people to take that first step and start something, no matter how small. Agriculture is the key to reducing hunger, creating employment, and building a stronger future. Together, we can cultivate a better tomorrow.”
