Vinicius Jr. escapes disaster as fire rips through his Madrid home.

A fire erupted Thursday morning at the Madrid home of Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr., authorities confirmed. The blaze broke out in the player’s residence in the upscale La Moraleja neighborhood of Alcobendas, north of the Spanish capital.

The 24-year-old Brazilian international was not at home at the time. He’s currently training with Brazil’s national team ahead of friendlies against South Korea and Japan on October 10 and 14.

Fire believed to have started in the sauna
Early reports indicate the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in the home’s sauna, located in the basement. The sauna was completely destroyed, and smoke quickly spread through the stairwell, filling two floors of the house and leaving heavy smoke damage throughout.

Quick response prevented greater damage
Emergency services received the first call at around 11 a.m. Two Madrid regional fire units were dispatched and joined local police officers already on the scene, who had begun extinguishing the flames using fire extinguishers.

Firefighters said the swift action and coordination between teams were crucial in stopping the blaze from spreading further. Crews ventilated the property once the flames were under control, and all emergency units left the site around noon.

No injuries reported
Despite the intensity of the fire and the area affected, officials said no one was injured or suffered smoke inhalation.

Local authorities are continuing to assess the damage and investigate the exact cause of the electrical fault that triggered the fire.

We are happy for his safety.

Man United in talks with Maguire over a new contract amid Saudi interest.

Harry Maguire’s representatives are understood to be in discussions with Manchester United over a potential new deal, after the 32-year-old defender also held talks with Saudi clubs.
Maguire is entering the final eight months of his current contract and is free to speak with other teams from 1 January. However, United are in ongoing talks about a possible renewal with their record defensive signing.

Ruben Amorim added the former club captain to United’s new leadership group in the summer, alongside Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui and Tom Heaton.

And reports suggest Maguire wants to stay in Manchester, though he may have to accept a pay cut to do so. Saudi clubs are also said to be interested, with Al-Ettifaq and Al-Nassr, home to Maguire’s former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, among those monitoring his situation.

Whether the financial lure of the Middle East will influence the centre-back’s decision remains to be seen.
United triggered the one-year extension clause in Maguire’s contract over the summer, a move the player claims happened without his consultation.
He addressed his contract situation in August, saying: ‘The clause was in their hands, so there was no option for me there. There was no talking. It was just that they activated it, and it got extended. This year, obviously I'm up at the end of the year.

‘I'm pretty sure the club have made it aware this summer that I can't leave the club on any terms with other clubs enquiring about my things and my position with my contract.

‘I'm sure over the next few months they'll sit down and we'll have to have a conversation about where we want to go and if they want to extend, or obviously the transfer window will open again in January.

‘Obviously, I have something in my mind about what I want to do and what I want to be. I don't want to put it out there to everybody, but it's an amazing club to pla

The 29-year-old has scored 44 goals and registered 12 assists in 58 appearances for Dortmund since making the move to the Bundesliga giants from Stuttgart in 2024.

Guirassy has actually scored 68 times in 106 Bundesliga appearances across spells with FC Koln, Stuttgart and BVB, while he has 16 goals in 20 Champions League outings during his career.

Guirassy has a contract with Dortmund until June 2028, with BVB thought to value him at €100m (£87m).
