We now live in a country where corruption is no longer a problem; it has become a national costume. Everybody wears it proudly and pretends not to notice the smell.

Those who are appointed to clean the rots in the system are now too busy chasing FOOD (The Media People) for instance. The youths, instead of demanding accountability and transparency, have become unofficial praise singers — chanting political slogans in exchange for “small chance” and promises of jobs and the likes that may not arrive.

The professionals who should question the government have also discovered a new profession: survival (EMPHASIS). Lawyers, analysts, and supposed activists now sell their souls wholesale for relevance, brown envelopes, and front-row seats at government banquets.

Governors have graduated from public servants to demi-gods. Some citizens now speak about them with the kind of fear and reverence usually reserved for thunder.

Meanwhile, fake youth organizations keep multiplying like mosquitoes during rainy season — all “fighting for the people” from inside government hotel rooms.
Everybody wants to be relevant. Nobody wants to be truthful.

Even honesty has become unemployment. If some lawyers refuse to lie, people say they may not survive in practice. Security has disappeared so completely that even fear now moves around with bodyguards.
And then comes the famous assurance from the Governor:
“Your money is with me. Nothing has happened to it.”
Of course, nothing has happened to it — except that the tenure is almost ending while the local governments are bleeding like accident victims abandoned on the roadside. Citizens are now wondering whether the money will eventually be accounted for or spiritually transferred into private family history.

At this point, governance is beginning to look like a family inheritance project — where a few powerful individuals treat the country and the states like ancestral compounds reserved for their children, cousins, in-laws, and political worshippers.

May God deliver the ordinary people from professional patriots, seasonal activists, and leaders who mistake public office for personal property.

AS A RESULT, LOVE AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING MAY SOMETIMES APPEAR SECONDARY TO FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS.

WHILE STRIVING FOR SUCCESS, IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN INTEGRITY, SELF-WORTH, AND A CLEAR SENSE OF PURPOSE. RATHER THAN VIEWING RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH THE LENS OF CONTROL OR MATERIAL INFLUENCE, WE SHOULD AIM TO BUILD CONNECTIONS BASED ON RESPECT, SHARED VALUES, AND SINCERITY.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) gantry price by N100, pushing the ex-depot rate to N874 per litre from N774, in a move that is expected to trigger fresh fuel price adjustments nationwide.

The Guardian confirmed the development on Monday following checks on petroleumprice.ng, which showed that the revised pricing had already taken effect.

Findings indicated that the upward review was driven by renewed volatility in the global crude oil market, with international oil prices surging past $80 per barrel overnight.

Industry data showed that the refinery had, effective midnight on March 2, 2026, suspended petrol loading operations after the spike in crude prices. The suspension affected the issuance of proforma invoices and PMS loading activities, although Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) continued to load without disruption.

A Short Tale

Some people say their town is sweet and flourishing. It shines and appears beautiful. So they make Ìjàpá the tortoise the chairman of their town — the land of the orphans.

But what does Ìjàpá do?

He quietly positions dogs and leopards to attach. He gathers the wealth of the town and keeps it for himself and his close associates alone.

Gradually, the land begins to decay. Things fall apart. Some people begin to die recklessly and senselessly. As we know:
Whoever crowns a madman will surely witness madness.

Now the heart of the town rots.

Ìjàpá uses the dogs and the leopards to intimidate and silence the people. Even the king is powerless. The king has no capacity to stop the mischievous acts of this self centered chairman, because they can lie against him and remove him whenever they wish.

Everything sinks into terrible disorder in the land of the orphans.

Who will now rescue the orphaned land?

There’re dogs!
There’re leopards!
There’re laws!
The greedy ones are here!
There’s death!
