TEAM NATURAL...
As I set to plait my client's thick and full head of natural hair, she couldn't help but brag about how well she had washed and oiled her hair ready to be made into twists.
I chuckled softly and commended her for a job well done as I let the tip of my comb sink into the seemingly soft and full hair. I parted the hair in the style she wanted and started working my way into rows upon rows of twists till I met a stumbling block.
The comb could no longer go in without causing her to cry in pain. It took me some time to realize that the harmattan had held her hair and made it too strong to be twisted.
HARMATTAN is a harsh weather condition that requires you to give extra care to your hair. From adequate washing with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, having a spray bottle handy, great detangling comb or brush and a moisturizer. I recommend Mega Growth products though. This will help as you prepare yourself to plait your hair this season, to avoid breakage of hair due to forceful combing.
Las las, I educated my client about getting the above listed items and I managed to finish up by adding a bit of gel to soften the tips.
P. S: Try as much as possible to not expose your hair to the weather. Do not loose your hair down with no intention of putting it in a protective style.
