Today, I had the privilege of attending the African Innovative Foundry at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Secretariat, Umuahia, as a founder.

When it was my turn to speak, I introduced myself as Corporate Chef Alex, Founder of Cookgenus, and shared a vision that has become bigger than food.

Across Africa, thousands of traditional recipes, cooking techniques, and culinary stories are disappearing as older generations pass on. If we don’t intentionally preserve them, we risk losing a part of our identity.

That is the problem Cookgenus is solving.

We’re building a digital archive of traditional African cuisines—where experienced cooks, chefs, and food custodians can document their knowledge through videos, recipes, and stories, making them accessible to future generations while creating new income opportunities for those who teach.

Food is culture. Food is history. Food is heritage.

I’m grateful for platforms like the African Innovative Foundry that bring innovators together to share ideas capable of creating lasting impact.

This is only the beginning.
