Alisimie Community in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, has taken a bold stance in addressing the deplorable state of the community's only link road. Recognizing the importance of transportation infrastructure for the overall development of any community.

Situated in the heart of Agbor, the Alisimie community serves as a hub for agriculture products in the region.

However, the state of its only link road has been a major hindrance to the economic growth and social well-being of its inhabitants.

This road, which connects the community to other major parts of Agbor town, has been riddled with potholes, erosion, and other hazards, making it practically impossible for vehicles to pass through without incurring damages.

This development, according to residents of Alisimie was occasioned by heavy duty trucks coming into the community to buy sand. They affirmed that it was since sand dredging activities commenced in Alisimie, was when their once 'beautiful road' which was once the pride of the community became something else.

In light of this pressing issue, Alisimie residents acknowledged that, they been actively engaging with the government and other relevant stakeholders to address the plight of the community, but no results yet.

However, the Alisimie community was not only focusing on the immediate needs of the community but also looking towards the future. The community has proposed the establishment of a faculty of the University of Delta in the community.

This move according to them, would not only bring about much-needed development and opportunities for the community but also provide quality education to the youth, who are the future leaders of the community.

The establishment of a university faculty in Alisimie would also attract investment and boost the local economy.according to them, It would create job opportunities, and ultimately, lead to the overall development of the community.

This proposal aligns perfectly with the vision of the Alisimie people, which is to bring positive change and progress to the community.

The Indigenes expressed their readiness to engaging with relevant stakeholders, including the state government, the university authorities, and community leaders, to make this dream a reality.

They added that, they believe there would be positive response, and were optimistic that their efforts would pay off.
