✨ TRUE KNOTS: THE TRUTH, NOT THE FEAR ✨
People hear “true knot” and immediately picture danger, crisis, emergency. But here’s the part no one tells you:
A true knot doesn’t automatically mean harm.
The cord is designed for movement. It’s long, it’s slippery, it’s coated in Wharton’s jelly, and it’s engineered to protect blood flow even when it twists, loops, or knots.
Babies flip, turn, somersault, and live their whole lives in fluid.
Cord variations like nuchal cords, loops, knots happen and are findings of a dynamic baby, not automatic emergencies.
Yes, a true knot can rarely become tight during labor, but most of the time:

🟣 Blood flow remains protected

There's so much we still don't understand about birth. Why some people have 2 hour labours, why some people have 20. Why one of your labours started at 38 weeks, the other not till 42.
There is not one labour that is the same. And that's just like people. We are all unique. So don't compare your labours to other peoples, don't even compare them to your own previous ones. Every pregnancy, every labour, every baby is different. And that my friends is the absolute magic of birth.

An explosion of life.
This is the moment the waters broke and life rushed into the world. There is nothing clean or quiet about birth, and that's the beauty of it.
The fluid, the intensity, the final surge—it's raw nature in motion.
Looking back, I see not a mess, but the undeniable, powerful, and undeniable force of creation. Witnessing this is to witness a miracle.
My heart is full and overflowing, just like this floor was.
In the quiet moments after the storm of labor, the focus shifts entirely to healing. This video captures the unwavering dedication of medical professionals who ensure the mother’s safe and comfortable recovery.
The hands you see are focused, gentle, and utterly essential. They are the hands that complete the journey, providing skilled care to mend and protect. Even in moments that require medical intervention, there is profound reassurance in the expertise and compassion of those who guide the transition into motherhood.
It takes a team to ensure both mother and baby are safe and well as a new family begins.

Birth is the ultimate lesson in surrender, even when you've walked the path before.
I witnessed such profound strength with this beautiful repeat family. After hard, dedicated labor and doing all the 'right' things, we met a moment where baby had his own plan. When faced with the unexpected shift—the realization that his journey required a little more help—this mama showed the most incredible form of courage: acceptance.
There is a unique power in hearing what your body and baby are telling you, even when it means pivoting to something scary or unplanned. She felt her feelings, processed the change, and chose trust.
Every birth, regardless of how it unfolds, is a safe, supported, and deeply informed journey. And every single journey culminates in this: meeting your baby surrounded by love. What an honor to stand beside you in your strength.

If you follow birth photographers you Il often see the phrase between 2 worlds for these sort of
pictures. And it literally couldn't be a more perfect statement for the moment of birth. It is the moment where part of them are earth side, and the oth half still within.
Some people still don't understand the beauty of birth photography and that's ok. It's not for everyone. But I will never ever understand how freezing the moment life enters the world isn't breathtakingly beautiful
