DON'T SET YOURSELF AGAINST THE LORD.
Jeremiah 48:42, 49:16 (ESV)
Moab shall be destroyed and be no longer a people, because he magnified himself against the Lord.
The horror you inspire has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, you who live in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as the eagle’s, I will bring you down from there, declares the Lord.
The quickest way to go into oblivion is to be proud (puffed up, egotistical, naughty, etc.)
The Bible describes a proud person or people as one who "sets himself against the Lord".
The highest form of folly is to be proud, boastful or driven by ego. The Lord quickly takes out such a person.
Jeremiah 50:31-32 ESV
“Behold, I am against you, O proud one, declares the Lord God of hosts, for your day has come, the time when I will punish you. The proud one shall stumble and fall, with none to raise him up, and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour all that is around him."
