From A Better Place

It's not the way they say that they love you.
Words are sweet.
Words are mandatory.
But I believe that love is born when they call you between their busy daily details.
When they cancel something to see you for minutes.
When they make effort to see you happy.
When they talk to you about things they never discuss with anyone else.
When they make you feel safe and surrounded.
When no one would make you feel less when they're around.

Love looks better by beautiful photos, sweet words and little gifts.

But it lives by care, safety and effort.

I can still remember the time when I begged for love. I lost my colors. I settled for the "maybe", the "I'll see if I can" and the "I'm tired". I endured the pain of every no, and over time I started to believe that maybe, just maybe, that's what I deserve. That I should just be grateful for the rare "yes" and just sit in the corner waiting.

It took some time, but when I finally realized that I'm slowly turning into this broken soul I always feared to be, I tried my best to get up and walk away. Step by step, I dragged my feet, and that's when I learned that one of the most difficult things to do in life is to walk away from things that you've always wanted. But I did it.

I did it because every day seemed like it's raining and I wanted to see the sun again. I did it for the days when I would laugh so hard my stomach would hurt. I did it because I wanted to believe that despite the messed up person that I am, despite all the scars and the holes in my chest, I deserve another shot at happiness.

I know it took a while, but I couldn't be prouder.
I did it.

Sometimes there's a big hole in your soul and that's just the way it is and you have to fill it up with songs you love and people who make you feel better and towels in your favorite color and socks that feel just right on your feet and even then sometimes part of you will leak out and other times it'll all gush at once and you'll feel like you're fighting a losing battle but the fact is every time you flood you just pick up the pieces of all the little good things around you and start laying the bricks over again and yeah it's too bad there's got to be a hole in the first place but that's life sometimes you babble and ebb and flow and burst but your soul is part of what keeps the world alive and it's really just amazing you're here so don't worry that the sadness never fully goes away I'm just really glad we exist. the world is full of everyone and I'm happy that includes us.

You can’t hold on to people who don’t want to stay. No matter how much you loved them if they want to go then let them, truly and sincerely with a warm smile and an accepting mind, let them go. And don’t get angry, don’t become resentful. Everyone has the right to choose their life and their path in it. And no matter how much you want someone to stay, Sometimes you have to accept that some people aren’t meant to be in you life although they might remain in your heart. Let them go for your own sake peacefully And calmly. Wish them the best and don’t try to deform your love for them. It was a beautiful feeling what you had. And thus, keep it so. and keep walking your own path who knows what the future carries for you.
