Drop The Cheese

Sometimes I genuinely sit there and think… how strange motivation actually is.

If you told me ten years ago that I’d be exactly where I am today, I would have given anything for it. I would have thought I’d finally “made it.” But that’s the trick about success, the moment you reach the peak you were staring at for a decade, the horizon expands, and suddenly you feel further away from your next goal than ever before.

Along the way, the room around you changes. People constantly come and go, and without even realizing it, they rewrite how you see your goals, and how you see yourself. There will always be people on the sidelines quietly rooting for you to fail, letting their own doubts bleed into your vision. But then there are the others. The ones who, sometimes without even trying or saying a word, give you that exact perspective you need to push into your next phase.

If there’s one thing I’m realizing right now, it’s this:

Feeling far away from where you want to be doesn’t mean you’re failing; it just means your vision grew along with your progress. Don’t let the shifting goalposts trick you into thinking you haven’t come a long way. The journey isn’t a straight line, and as long as you keep moving through the noise, the right people will push you exactly where you need to go.
