PRGRSSMIX 010 - GIL 27/06/2020

And we are back with the 10th PRGRSSMIX by the one and only GIL who's DJ sets are a tightly woven, non-linear yet soaring experiences of music’s potential to create new dance forms. His own musical output underlines a rich ability to experiment with context – notably, he has released two EPs on Danse Noire, a singleon Country Music and most recently an acoustic EP on Yegorka. He has also composed a score for Akinola Davies’ BBC production Black to Life, and released edits and remixes on PTP, Mixpack, and Staycore. Definitely a repertoire convincing enough to give this beautiful mix a proper listen.

We look back again in the archives of PB. Even though we cannot be together in the clubs right now, Bala Club's Kamixlo brings the club to you on his Soundcloud. Overflowing with mixes and self-produced releases, it is definitely an account to check if you want to bring the club to your house:

ORCORARA 2010, by Elysia Crampton 12/05/2020

The latest release of Elysia Crampton on PAN is called 'ORCORARA 2010'. "This album follows intergenerational trauma, fugitives of Christian violence in a twilight called Puruma, returning to Mama Cocha, the sea that theorists call Nowhere.

Dedicated to the life of Paul Sousa, who while incarcerated, worked years as an inmate firefighter across the Sierra Nevada of California. Also dedicated to the work of Sage LaPena and Dr. Gretel Mendizabal Nolte. (Includes misreadings of Jimenez, Saenz, Claudel, & Wright).

Not one, not world, not body, not god, not salvation, not zero; only a ceaseless approaching toward, with, and as the great mystery, by Grace, Tatamama. Jallalla."

Please listen to it here! All proceeds go to the American Indian Movement West / AIM SoCal chapters.
