Changing Perspective RU Nijmegen

Anton Pijpers, a board member of Utrecht University, has spent 124.000 last year on a private VIP taxi service. That's over three times the salary of a teacher in secondary education. In the past, this same person has been reprimanded for similar absurd greed, i.e. buying 574 euro worth of wine. This earlier misbehavior has led to regulation enforced by the supervisory board. Now that these regulations have been broken by Anton Pijpers, they act as if nothing is wrong and say that this is okay. (?!?)

A local council member from Utrecht has questioned this greedy behavior but he was put off by the entire council. They refused to discuss this matter in an official meeting. Subsequently, they denounced the whistleblower in the national media for addressing this topic which they find unfair. (?!?)

1 We demand the resignation of Anton Pijpers, who deliberately wastes public money and thus proves to be incapable for the position he is in.

2 We demand the resignation of the supervisory board of Utrecht University, who have failed to supervise even after being reprimanded by the ministry.

3 We demand the Radboud University CvB to withdraw confidence in Anton Pijpers and to boycot any meetings in which he is present.

4 We denounce all council members who choose to reinforce a culture of fear instead of facing the real issues at our universities.

5 We declare our unconditional support to the whistleblower who was brave enough to put this misbehavior up for discussion, even though the entire council has boycotted his efforts to do so.
