Researchers and clinicians used a TUNICELL hydrogel, together with from Novamatrix®, and human adipose tissue to engineer stable hydrogel-fat grafts in vivo. They studied both in situ and ex situ crosslinking strategies for the hydrogel and adipose tissue extracts. Results show promise for an fat-hydrogel formulation that crosslinks in situ. This could be very beneficial for applications in soft tissue reconstruction, using a minimally invasive procedure to reduce risk and discomfort to the patient, as well as cost benefits for systems.👩‍⚕️
