Warm congratulations to my friend Shradha Shrestha on her appointment as Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens and on joining Nepal’s expanded cabinet. Her appointment is a proud and meaningful step forward for women’s leadership at the national level. I wish her a purposeful, impactful, and successful tenure 🙏🇳🇵

At the same time, the expansion of the cabinet from 9 to 13 members—where only one of the four newly appointed ministers is a woman—highlights the persistent challenge of women’s underrepresentation in key decision-making roles.

As a State Party to , Nepal has a clear obligation under General Recommendation No. 40 to ensure substantive equality and fair representation of women in public and political life. Genuine progress requires more than symbolic gestures; it calls for sustained, structural inclusion.

May this appointment become a catalyst for achieving stronger gender balance across all levels of governance ✊💜

💖 डा. सरिता खनालज्यूको प्रेरणादायी यात्रा

समाजमा केही व्यक्तिहरू हुन्छन्, जसको जीवन आफैंमा प्रेरणा बनिन्छ। डा. सरिता खनालज्यू त्यस्तै व्यक्तित्वकी धनी हुनुहुन्छ। विगत १५ वर्षदेखि उहाँले आफ्नो समय, ऊर्जा र माया निस्वार्थ रूपमा समाजसेवा र मानवताको लागि समर्पित गर्नु भएको छ।

उहाँको सेवा केवल आँकडामा सीमित छैन। ९० बालबालिका र ६४५ वृद्धजनको जीवनमा उहाँले आशा, सम्मान र उज्यालो ल्याउनुभयो। बालबालिकालाई उज्यालो भविष्य दिनु, वृद्धजनको एकान्त हटाउनु, र समाजका हरेक कमजोर वर्गलाई न्याय र माया पुर्‍याउनु—यी सबै उहाँको समर्पणको प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण हुन्। उहाँको कामले केवल तत्काल राहत मात्र होइन, भविष्यमा समाजमा स्थायी परिवर्तन ल्याउने बीउ रोपेको छ।

डा. खनालज्यूको जीवन हामी सबैका लागि प्रेरणा हो। उहाँले देखाउनु भएको मेहनत, समर्पण र दया हामीलाई सिकाउँछ कि सानो प्रयासले पनि ठूलो परिवर्तन ल्याउन सक्छ। उहाँले केवल सेवा गर्नु भएको छैन, उहाँले प्रेम, दया र मानवताको प्रकाश फैलाउनु भएको छ। प्रत्येक मुस्कान, प्रत्येक सहयोग, प्रत्येक शाखा खोल्नु—यी सबैले हाम्रो समाजमा उज्यालो बीउ रोपेको छ।

अब हाम्रो अवसर छ—उहाँको यो निस्वार्थ यात्रा राष्ट्रिय स्तरमा सम्मानित बनाउने। आउनुहोस्, हामी सबै मिलेर Innovative National Volunteer Award 2025 मा डा. सरिता खनालज्यूलाई भोट गरौं। हाम्रो सानो योगदानले पनि ठूलो फरक पार्न सक्छ।

समाजमा सकारात्मक परिवर्तन ल्याउने यो उज्यालो व्यक्तित्वलाई हामीले सदैव सम्मान गर्नुपर्छ। डा. खनालज्यूले देखाउनु भएको प्रेम, समर्पण र सेवा भावले हाम्रो हृदय मात्र नभई समाजको भविष्य उज्यालो बनाउँछ। आउनुहोस्, हामी सबै मिलेर उहाँको योगदानको कदर गरौं र उज्यालो यात्रामा साथ दिऔँ।
