Happy Democracy Day (Prajatantra Diwas) 🇳🇵✨

Today, Nepal observes Prajatantra Diwas to commemorate the end of the Rana autocratic regime in 2007 BS (1951 AD) and the restoration of democracy through the historic people’s movement. This milestone marked the beginning of citizens’ rights, freedom of expression, and public participation in governance.
On this day, we honor the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for democracy and renew our commitment to uphold democratic values for a just, inclusive, and prosperous Nepal.

✨ Warm wishes to everyone celebrating Tamu Lhosar. May the new year bring happiness, wisdom, and hope to all. ✨

Tamu Lhosar is the New Year festival of the Gurung (Tamu) community of Nepal. It marks the beginning of a new year according to the Tamu (Lho) calendar, which follows a traditional 12-year animal cycle.
This auspicious day is celebrated to welcome new beginnings, express gratitude to nature and ancestors, and pray for peace, prosperity, good health, and harmony in the year ahead.
More than a festival, Tamu Lhosar is a celebration of identity and heritage. Families and communities come together in traditional attire to perform rituals, share meals, dance, and pass on stories, values, language, and customs to the younger generation.
By celebrating Tamu Lhosar, we honor cultural diversity, unity, and respect, reminding us that our traditions are a source of strength and belonging.
