Some already have a grip on it.
Some only have one finger on the dial.
And others might just be trying to get a handle on it quickly.
The goal with creating our Electrical Glove Guide was never to “teach experts their job.” It was simply to make the basics easier to follow and easier to explain — whether you’re refreshing your own knowledge, helping train someone else, or just trying to understand what protection is actually needed for the work being done.
We broke it down step by step:
• Insulated vs arc-rated gloves
• Glove classes and voltage ratings
• Why cotton inners matter
• Why leather outers matter
• Air testing and inspection
• Storage, drying, and glove care
• Complete kits that take the guesswork out
Sometimes safety information gets presented in a way that feels intimidating or overly technical. We wanted this to feel practical, visual, and approachable for people at all levels.
Because anyone interested in the gear they wear deserves to understand why it matters.

I’ve always gravitated towards designers like Dieter Rams and his principle that good design is as little design as possible. At Jaedon, that’s not treated as anything abstract. It simply means making sure the garment works properly for the person wearing it.

Most of the people we deal with aren’t looking for something more impressive. They’re dealing with gear that gets in the way, whether that’s poor fit, unnecessary features, or details that don’t hold up in real conditions. Looking good has its place, but when people are working, performance and safety carry far more weight.

We’re genuinely thrilled to announce that Jaedon has welcomed Chris Edgar to the team.

With over 15 years of experience in the health and safety industry, Chris brings a wealth of PPE and workwear knowledge and is looking forward to helping customers with head-to-toe safety solutions. Over the years, he has worked closely with many different industries, giving him a practical, real-world understanding of the risks teams face every day.

What stood out to us most is how strongly Chris aligns with the way we work and our company values. He’s shares our belief that protection should be personal, and that the best outcomes come from truly understanding the people using the gear.

Known for his hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset, Chris takes the time to understand each environment and tailor solutions that are both compliant and fit for purpose. He’s joined us to strengthen how we show up alongside our customers, helping teams feel equipped, confident, and well supported.

When you engage with Chris, you can expect a genuine, down-to-earth approach. Someone who listens, makes the process easy, and helps you feel confident in the decisions you’re making.

Whether it’s improving site safety, refreshing current PPE programs, or ensuring alignment with current regulations and best practice or just general advise on something you may want to be informed about, Chris is here to help every step of the way. Feel free to get in touch with him!

When we were being shown around Jaedon for the first time, back when we were still deciding whether to buy the business.
Emily was walking us through the garments we manufacture. Fabrics, cuts, use cases. All the things you’d expect.

Then she disappeared for a moment.
She came back holding a jacket on a hanger.

From across the room, I went “oooh, what is that?!

It was the Mascot hi vis winter jacket, 19035-449.

Even at a distance, you could tell it was different. Structured. Intentional. It looked engineered.

That’s where Mascot stands apart in a noticeable way;
They don’t just produce garments. They design for performance. Every seam, every panel, every movement point is considered. Built for real work, not just compliance.
Their range is incredibly vast and you can 100% obtain whatever you want through us- but I’ve looked into what people like you are buying -and returning to, so as to provide a starting point of the true hot pieces:

Lerida pants. Balanced, reliable, built to move. (05079-010)
Bex trousers. Tough, practical, and proven on site. (06679-135)
Charleston shorts. Lightweight without compromise when the heat is on.(10149-154)
Biloxi trousers. Hard-wearing with a sharper, more professional fit.(12355-630)
Oron bib and brace. Serious workwear with kneepad support that actually performs.(13669-216)
And for outerwear:
The Softshell. Easy, versatile, everyday comfort. (12002-149)
The Accelerate winter jacket. Modern, technical, built for movement. (23035-231)
And the 19035-449. The one that ''turnt''my head; High-vis, high-performance, unmistakably Mascot. (main image)
These aren’t just popular by chance.
They’re the pieces teams try once, and then rely on.
We work with Mascot here in NZ to make sure what you choose fits, performs, and lasts.
There’s only one downside to Mascot – it’s hard to go back from it, people become solid converts/uber fans/loyal followers. More on Mascot here: https://www.mascotworkwear.co.nz/en/

What are Electrical Gloves?

If you work in electrical environments, you’ve likely heard the term, but what are electrical gloves, and why do they matter?

Electrical gloves (also called electrical insulating gloves, insulated gloves, dielectric gloves, rubber insulating gloves, low-voltage gloves, or electrical safety gloves) protect workers from electric shock when they work on or near live electrical equipment. Manufacturers produce them using high-dielectric rubber that prevents electrical current from passing through the body.

These are not general-purpose gloves.
Instead, they are engineered life-saving equipment.

Best place to put new products through its paces? A netball court. Fits all members of the team. Reflective tape blinds the opponents. Was cool to wear whilst really working it. It’s the PANTS man!!
