What a week! Vibrant, connective, inspiring, joyful, thought provoking - these are some of the words that have popped up in conversation during NJW 2025.
We want to say thank you!
To the artists, makers, and creators both local, national and international who brought their mahi, ideas and sparkle to Whakatū.
To the audience members who got stuck in, toured the streets with maps in hand. To those who travelled to take part from near and far.
To the venue teams who stayed open late, made exhibitions happen and hosted amazing events.
To the workshop participants who threw themselves into something new. To the tutors who shared their valuable skills.
To the Arts Council Nelson crew, NJW team and volunteers who installed and destalled, put out signs, got the lighting just right and made it all tick behind the scenes.
To our supportive funders and .
To our wonderful partners , , , and .

Neke Moa, Sofia Tekela-Smith and Stevei Houkāmau led a powerful activation at the Nelson Provincial Museum with their work, KOHĀ, on Sunday.
The artists invited those in attendance to engage in the process of kohā by exchanging and deepening an understanding of adornment practice through their own offerings of words, songs or small treasures.
We shared kava, korero, waiata and taonga. We shared ideas, laughter, space and breath.
Thank you to the team at the Museum for hosting this awesome event, and to Neke, Sofia and Stevei for their generosity.
