About yesterday - an idea a long time in the making was finally realised! I’m so so so grateful for the support from 💕 And so grateful for everyone who got involved and validated this idea.

Time to get started on scaling this up and getting more menstrual discs into more hands - this is just the beginning!

I can’t believe today happened and it went so well! I’ve had this idea for so long and I can’t believe it did it. I’m so so so grateful for the support from 💕 And so grateful for everyone who got involved and validated this idea.

For anyone coming by tomorrow, we will be 🏡 ☀️

And don’t forget, Happiness House has a food pantry outside, so if you have any pantry items to spare, bring them along 😊

Can’t wait to meet you and talk periods and menstrual discs!

The first hello disc went to a new home this week 🖤 there has been a heap of interest in next week’s even and I can’t wait to see more of these head out!

So why menstrual discs?

The disc was absolutely life changing for me.

I never had to think about buying menstrual products, it was easy and comfortable to use, it’s the safest option out there, and holds the most amount of blood.

And to top it all off, not only do they eliminate the financial burden of managing a monthly cycle but they’re also one of the most sustainable options for the environment.

I’ve always thought about how it’s such a simple fix to a recurring burden on people who menstruate - it’s all about how to get them in everyone’s hands (that part is not so simple)!

Let me introduce you to Sustainable Cycles. It’s my first step towards realising an idea that I’ve had for a looooong time. To say I’m excited is an understatement!

So what is this big idea?

I want every period-haver in the world (I’m aiming high) to have a Hello Period menstrual disc. I understand however, that the upfront cost of a menstrual disc can be a barrier for many. Cue Sustainable Cycles… It exists to remove that barrier by providing fully subsidised menstrual discs to anyone who wants one. I want to source funding from wherever I can, and redirect it into menstrual discs. Period dignity should not be a privilege, it should be a human right.

The goal of world wide distribution of discs is a bit big for now; so the first step is to pilot this idea in my Tāhuna Queenstown community. I recently secured some funding from Waste Minimisation Fund and I can now give this a shot!

Follow my Instagram or Facebook as I share more about this initiative, Hello discs, and menstrual health in general. And if you or someone you know would like to access a Hello disc, join me on 29 January to get one! The link to the event is in my bio.
