VALLEY TWINS Located with easy access to amenity and short stroll to the iconic Mt Maunganui Beach, Valley Twins serves as two holiday homes to our two clients families. The brief to create secluded retreats from street frontage, efficient site planning, two buildings that identify with each other. Lock and leave. The design response results with the site being split down the center. Expressive cube forms with deliberate guarded windowless frontage. Outdoor courtyards are internalised offering privacy together with accessibility from living spaces. Wrapped with a combination of vertical seam metal and thermally modified timber for bold textural contrasts and deep grounding shadows.
