It’s the Final Countdown.

We’re now in our final 24 hours before applications close—and there are still over 77 Kaimanawa horses whose lives hang in the balance.

These are not just numbers. These are living, breathing horses—stallions who’ve survived decades in the wild, mares who’ve protected their foals from helicopters, and youngsters who may never have a chance at life beyond the ranges. They are sensitive, intelligent, and adaptable. The horses from the April Muster have already proven their worth over the last six weeks of training. They are ready to be someone’s heart horse.

We’ve saved more than 200 horses already—which is nothing short of extraordinary. But these last 77 are the hardest. The ones that still need someone to step up and say, “I can give this horse a future.”

We know it’s a big ask. But if there’s even a glimmer of possibility that you could take on a horse—whether you’re a trainer, an experienced horseperson, or someone willing to work alongside a professional—now is the moment to act.
