A wonderful surprise and acknowledgment last week at the Auckland Council / Eco matters Zero Waste awards. I was nominated and awarded in the "Trailblazer" category Runner-Up for the community work , awareness, passion and encouragement for Zero Waste efforts in the West Auckland area. Sharing this award with all those friends , family and community people who have been a part of this 4 year journey and supported in making it so much fun.
Looking forward to continuing and strengthening this work as we evolve and take it to the next level. The winner of this award was "Everybody Eats" a volunteer group that takes food waste and with the help of top chefs in Auckland a three course meal is cooked and served in St Stevens Arcade in K Road every Monday evening for the homeless and needed. Very inspiring to see the great work that is happening to bring Social , Economic and Environmental change as we move towards Auckland becoming Zero Waste by 2040.
